Wine Pairing for Thanksgiving Dinner ft. Cameron Hughes Wine

Thank you Cameron Hughes for sponsoring this post. Capture the celebratory spirit of the holidays, and toast to the season with Cameron Hughes wine!

With the end of Halloween and the beginning of November, holiday party season is upon us and I can already feel the frenzy! What's up next? Thanksgiving! A holiday that is not about food, but involves a ton food! Whether it's your turn to host the Turkey Day meal or you're just in charge of the beverages, I've got you covered, thanks to Cameron Hughes Wine! Read on to learn how to impress that special someone at Friendsgiving or just gain knowledge for yourself.

So, what wine to pair with Thanksgiving Dinner? I actually covered how to pair wine with food on this post, but I'll give you a brief overview here. You have your:

1) Simple ingredient pairing. #basic and most obvious route, just thinking about one general ingredient.

2) Multi ingredient pairing. Taking the whole meal into consideration and choosing the wine that best pairs with everything on the plate.

3) Opposition pairing. You purposely pick a wine that isn't the obvious choice, to draw attention to something specific about the meal like a sauce or an herb.

Ā

You're probably like...okay but can you tell me specifically what to do?! I'm going to! Just trying to teach you along the way;) Here's some specific pairings you can use on T-day!

Simple ingredient pairing: Cameron Hughes Pinot Noir - This red wine complements the turkey wonderfully.

Multi ingredient pairing: Cameron Hughes Chardonnay -  This wine goes great with your greens and veggie sides, while still complementing your main.

Opposition pairing: Cameron Hughes Cabernet Sauvignon - This wine pairs wonderfully with the herbs on your turkey. It will draw attention to the garlic, oregano, sage, thyme, rosemary, etc, and enhance the actual flavor of the bird. Cab Sauv will also complement any of your desserts with cinnamon, cloves or nutmeg.

Ā

Cameron Hughes Wine believes that great wine doesn't have to be expensive, and so do I! They promote exceptional wine at extraordinary value and would be a great addition to your Thanksgiving Feast. Do you have a favorite wine to pair with turkey day? What's your favorite way to pair wine?
