The Smart Way to Shop a Sale + Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Top Picks under $100
Happiest of Thursday's, y'all! If you're a cardholder at Nordstrom like me, then it's the best sale of the year...what I think Christmas in July is;) (Head straight to the Nsale here!) But really, I love buying Christmas gifts this time of year and not stressing during end of the year festivities. Not a surprise though, if you know me and my habitual planning! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public July 22nd and goes through August, 7th; however, if you have a Nordstrom card, you can shop it now!
This morning I woke up early and did cardio and by cardio I mean power shopping from my bed. I scrolled through the entire NSale and picked all of my favorites from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! And best of all? I rounded up items all under $100! But, let's wait a minute before we start shopping...
What do I think about when choosing items to purchase? Here's a look inside my head when I shop sales, which can help you shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale or any sale, really!
First of all, before I shop a big sale, I make a list of things I need (basics or classics, think new black skinnies) and things I want (trends, think statement heels with fringe). It's SO easy to get caught up in a sale and get a little crazy. You and your wallet will be happier if you plan a little!
Next, ask yourself these questions:
1) Is it versatile? (You want to wear it as much as you can, in different ways, right?)
2) How many seasons can I wear it in? (Both quality wise and fabric/structurally wise. The more seasons, the more use. This drives cost per wear down, which is what you want!)
3) If it's trendy, is it a neutral? (Here's why)
4) Is it actually a good deal? (Sometimes they just aren't. Discern whether or not you're getting your bang for your buck.)
