Don't know what NYFW stands for? It's New York Fashion Week! NYC kicks off fashion month and it all begins with NYFW. Want to know more? Here's two informative posts from my recent trip:

What I learned from my first NYFW

What I did at NYFW SS18

Location, location, location. I mentioned it in in both of my posts listed above, but I didn't go in depth. A huge part of getting prepped for New York Fashion Week is not only making sure you have a a place to stay, but making sure that is in the right area of New York City! Most of the fashion shows are in Skylight Clarkson Sq, so it only makes sense to be near that area. I did attend one show that was pretty far away at a museum, and one that was in the store location in the Flat Iron District, but those were the only exceptions.

Why is it important to be close? Well often times things are back to back and you don't have a ton of time if you want to freshen up/change, but more so than that, you don't to spend too much time (and money!!) traveling. Most people end up taking cabs/Ubers over walking or taking the Subway, which can be very $$$.  You can buy one unlimited 7 day metro card for $30ish, which is pretty much the same for one Uber drive, give or take! When I was researching where to stay for NYFW, this was top of mind for me!

So where did we lay our head and get that much needed snooze in the city that never sleeps? The Frederick Hotel NYC! Formerly known as The Cosmopolitan, The Frederick is a newly renovated boutique hotel located in the heart of TriBeCa in lower Manhattan. It's a 20 minute walk, 10 minute subway ride, or 9 minute car ride away from Skylight Clarkson and of course located near a Starbucks. What more could you need;) It's also near good eats and a Subway station! We ate at Serafina, Little Park, and The Bennett- all within walking distance!

So that's that about the location, but what about the hotel itself? Like I said it has been newly renovated, so your lobby and rooms are top notch! They also have plans to install a bar, which I personally cannot wait for! The room was the perfect place to lay your head and relax. I loved the modern fixtures and decor, for sure. We were just in a single room, but they also offer doubles and suites. Don't forget about their other great amenities like a gym, C.O. Bigelow bath amenities and of course the ever needed wifi.

If you need a hotel for fashion week or just a place to stay while you explore all New York has to offer, I'd highly recommend The Frederick Hotel NYC.  They are actually a part of a boutique hotel group called Triumph Hotels. All 6 are in NYC and similar, but different! They welcome fashion weekers and often do something special for them. This year they had a sketch artist to come in a draw you in your favorite outfit! What's your favorite area to stay in New York City? What about outside of the city? I'm dying to get back to New York and get out of the major hustle and bustle.
